Orgill, the world’s largest independent distributor of hardlines products, is ushering in a new era of retail advancement with the opening of its state-of-the-art Innovation Center in Collierville, Tennessee.
The new 553,000-square-foot facility—located adjacent to Orgill’s corporate headquarters—will replace the company’s former center in Olive Branch, Mississippi. More than doubling the previous space, this modern hub will serve as a living laboratory, retail showroom, and training destination designed to empower independent retailers and accelerate industry innovation.
“The opening of this Innovation Center marks a new chapter for our company and underscores our commitment to fulfilling the mission of helping our customers be successful,” said Boyden Moore, President and CEO of Orgill. “This is just one example of how we continue to invest in new ideas, technologies, and advancements that can benefit our customers and our industry partners.”
A Year-Round Retail Experience
The Innovation Center will provide continuous access to the latest advancements in retail, featuring interactive showrooms, concept testing labs, and a technology hub equipped with retail robots, electronic shelf labels, and cutting-edge point-of-sale systems.
“We can now provide a year-round showroom experience featuring full model stores, vendor product lines, and complete merchandising assortments,” said David Mobley, Executive Vice President of Sales. “This is a significant advantage for both our customers and our vendor partners, as the ability to see, touch, and feel products continuously makes a profound difference in planning and procurement.”
Collaboration, Education, and Innovation
Beyond its technology and displays, the center will foster strategic collaboration through specialized training programs, vendor conferences, and exclusive industry events. Retailers will benefit from seasonal showcases, operational efficiency workshops, and hands-on product testing opportunities.
The facility will also include a media production studio, enabling retailers and vendors to create customized marketing content and digital assets on-site.
A Bold Investment in the Future
Backed by a $66 million investment in construction and an additional $15 million in technology and outfitting, the Innovation Center represents one of Orgill’s largest commitments to the independent retail channel to date.
“Orgill has a long and rich history in the industry, but an investment on this scale really shows that we are not content resting on our reputation,” Moore added. “We understand that the market is constantly changing, and having access to this kind of resource helps our customers navigate those changes through experimentation, education, and collaboration.”
A Hub for Growth and Partnership
“We have a resource that is unique within the industry,” said Clay Jackson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Collaborating with our vendor partners and service providers, we have the ability to test new and innovative products, assortments, and technologies. It’s an amazing investment to help serve our customers and connect them with industry partners.”
The Orgill Innovation Center will stand as more than just a building—it will be a vibrant ecosystem for growth, learning, and collaboration, driving the next generation of success for independent retailers across North America.
