A new chapter in Henrietta’s retail landscape began this month with the grand opening of Howard Walker’s True Value Hardware, a family-owned store with deep local roots and a heartfelt legacy.

The store, located in the historic former Olsen Stelzer Boot and Saddlery building downtown, pays tribute to Howard Walker, a revered community figure who dedicated his life to service. Walker, who passed away in 2022, was a math teacher for 50 years and served as pastor of First Christian Church for six decades.

The store’s co-owner, Julie Walker-Martin, named the business in honor of her late father. “We’re grateful for the warm reception we’ve received from the community and are excited to continue serving Henrietta with a store that combines small-town charm with a broad selection of products,” she said. “We hope to create a welcoming space where people feel at home.”

Together with her husband and co-owner, Cory Martin, the couple has transformed the early 1900s structure into a vibrant retail space offering everything from housewares and lawn & garden supplies to tools, plumbing materials, automotive accessories, and welding equipment.

“We are thrilled to bring Howard Walker’s True Value Hardware to our hometown,” said Cory Martin. “This store represents more than just a place to shop — it’s a tribute to the community that has supported the Walker family over the years.”

The opening of the store marks not only a new business venture but also a meaningful addition to Henrietta’s downtown revitalization. With a focus on personalized service, a broad inventory, and a deep appreciation for the town’s heritage, Howard Walker’s True Value Hardware is poised to become a trusted hub for residents and visitors alike.
