Do it Best Group announced today that operations at the True Value office at 8600 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago will materially conclude on October 9, marking another significant step in the company’s accelerated integration of True Value.

The transition advances the strategic direction announced following the acquisition of True Value, establishing one company headquarters at the Do it Best Group world headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Since the acquisition, the company has remained focused on integrating operations, eliminating duplication, and reducing structural costs. Bringing teams together in one location will create greater organizational alignment, improve operating efficiency, and strengthen the company’s ability to deliver greater value to its member-owners faster than originally projected.

Following discussions with Chicago-based team members, just over 20% will continue with the company and will soon operate out of the Do it Best Group headquarters in Fort Wayne. This will support continuity across key functions while further connecting the experience and capabilities of the True Value team with the broader Do it Best Group organization.

True Value’s roots in Chicago extend back more than three-quarters of a century, reflecting a rich tradition of supporting independent hardware retailers and the communities they serve. That history remains an important part of the combined company’s identity. As the Chicago office closes, its long-standing commitment to independent retail will continue in Fort Wayne through a stronger, more closely aligned organization dedicated to helping locally owned businesses thrive.

The headquarters transition is part of Do it Best Group’s broader effort to integrate quickly and responsibly following its acquisition of True Value in 2024.
