Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, and the Tractor Supply Company Foundation announced today they will donate $1 million to charity organizations committed to supporting our nation’s military service members, veterans, and first responders. The donation coincides with the launch of Hometown Heroes, a special program with wide-ranging benefits and recognition for the heroes who bravely serve our country and communities. Tractor Supply and Petsense by Tractor Supply have long supported Hometown Heroes through donations, semiannual discounts, designated parking spots at stores, volunteer activities, and the company’s veterans group for Team Members. Hometown Heroes brings together the company’s efforts to support the selfless men and women who serve America under one banner.

In addition, the company is introducing a Hometown Heroes spotlight series to celebrate customers and Team Members who embody the spirit of being Hometown Heroes.

“Tractor Supply’s commitment to supporting and honoring those who have served our country through military service, as well as first responders, runs deep,” said Mary Winn Pilkington, president of the Tractor Supply Company Foundation. “We are fortunate to count many of these heroes as our customers and Team Members. We salute these charities for the important work they do. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with them to give back to these heroes who have sacrificed so much.”

The following 10 nonprofit organizations will receive $100,000 each as part of Tractor Supply’s $1 million donation:

  • 9/11 Day : Inspires millions of Americans to volunteer, donate to charities and perform other good deeds and acts of kindness on September 11 to honor the memory of those killed or injured on 9/11.
  • Bob Woodruff Foundation: Invests in programs that help our service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers thrive.
  • Farmer Veteran Coalition: Provides micro-grants to veterans who are in their beginning years of farming or ranching.
  • Folds of Honor: Provides educational scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled service members and first responders.
  • Gary Sinise Foundation: Serves the surviving spouse/guardian and children of fallen heroes through year-round activities and support including The Snowball Express and Relief and Resiliency programming.
  • K9s For Warriors: Fights veteran suicide by providing trained service dogs (many that are rescues) to military veterans suffering from PTSD and other traumas.

Hometown Heroes Spotlight Series

Tractor Supply is launching a Hometown Heroes spotlight series showcasing customers and Team Members who exemplify the spirit of Hometown Heroes. A $5,000 donation will be made in honor of every hero featured to their Hometown Hero charity of choice. The inaugural recipients are:

  • Cody Bigalke, team member from New London, Wisconsin; part-time police officer and volunteer firefighter
  • Eddie Foley, vice president of loss prevention; former U.S. Navy Gunners Mate 3
  • Roc Hodges, director of outbound transportation; former U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant
  • Randy Krieger, team member from Billings, Montana; U.S. Navy veteran and retired firefighter of 35 years
  • Colin Yankee, executive vice president, chief supply chain officer; former U.S. Army Captain; graduate of United States Military Academy at West Point

These Hometown Heroes were selected based on their commitment to serving and protecting our way of life in America. Their efforts have included fostering the military/veteran community at Tractor Supply, organizing volunteer activities and raising awareness within the company, as well as establishing the tradition of giving a challenge coin to every service member and veteran who joins the Tractor Supply team. The first group of recipients includes founding members of the Veterans Team Member Engagement Group at Tractor Supply. Their leadership has helped to foster meaningful career connections and contributed to Tractor Supply’s recognition by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Veterans in 2023.
